March : St. Patrick's Day

Mrs. Arrington's Pot of Gold
Christy Arrington, Covington, VA
Grade Level: First

I created this display to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. I only have one bulletin board in my room that displays student information, so I have to use a space on my wall as a bulletin board to decorate for seasons.

I made this display with poster paper, construction paper, and some store bought leprechauns. I drew the black pot and put yellow construction paper coins with my students' names in the black pot. I cut out a rainbow from poster paper that met up with my window. I tell my class that they are like a rainbow -- their different ways (personalities) are like the different colors and that they all brighten up the room like the bright colors do. I die-cut the shamrocks out of construction paper and placed them all around to fill in the bare spots. I made a sign that reads "Mrs. Arrington's Pot of Gold" from my computer.
