![]() Last year my students (and their parents) gave me an end-of-the-year gift of tie-dye curtains and pillow covers. I wasn't sure what theme to go with, so I decided to make it a "bright" reading corner. I labeled all my book baskets with colored/laminated construction paper, based on their genre (mystery is orange, etc...). I have the pillows (easily washable) for them to sit on or hug, and an orange gator (our school mascot) compliments of another student. I already had the smiley face bean bag, so it just added to it! I taped large butterflies to the book cases, and hung bright suns and other objects from the ceiling. My whole room is full of bright colors, and the reading corner just emphasizes that. My door even said, "Bright students enter here" with sunglasses of each child's name. They beg to sit there! :)
