April : Easter

Hop Into a Good Book
Angela Williams, Atoka, Oklahoma
Grade Level: Third

This is my seasonal bulletin board for Spring/Easter. I talked with my students about my idea for bunnies hopping into a book and they liked the idea. One student said we needed clouds, so she made two clouds. Another student made the book while another student used craft scissors with a special design to cut around the words which are coming out of the cracked eggs. Other students chose the egg colors. Craft scissors were used to cut the border so that it would look more like grass. The eggs and bunnies were made using a die-cut machine. We talk about and read different genres throughout the year, so I wanted something that reflects the genres we have already discussed and those we will eventually discuss. The following genres are shown coming out of the cracked eggs: folktale, poetry, mystery, fantasy, biography, autobiography, historcial fiction, realistic fiction, science fiction and non-fiction.
